GBP/USD Breaks 1.3590: Bullish Continuation in Focus
GBP/USD has now broken above the 1.3590 resistance and is trading around 1.3610, confirming a bullish breakout from the previous range. This shift changes the structure from consolidation to continuation, signalling that buyers have regained control after multiple failed attempts at this level.
The breakout likely happened due to a combination of strong bullish momentum built over the past four weeks and positioning ahead of key U.S. data. Markets may also be pricing in expectations around Fed policy direction and softer USD sentiment, which helped push prices through a well-watched technical barrier.
With this move, 1.3590 now turns into support, and holding above this level becomes important to sustain the breakout. On the upside, the next target is 1.3710 if momentum continues.
On the downside, if the breakout fails and price drops back below 1.3590, it could turn into a false breakout and lead to a pullback toward the 1.3500s.
GBP/USD Daily Chart

Bottom line: The trend has shifted more clearly bullish after the breakout. The focus now is on whether price can hold above 1.36 and build continuation, with upcoming ISM and non-farm payrolls acting as key catalysts for the next move.
